How bad are I 90 and I 94 between Livingston MT and Bismarck ND in the winter?
I'm going for a job interview next week in Bismarck, and my family lives just south of Livingston. This will only work if I can come home to see the family every two or three weeks. It looks like no mountain passes between here and there, and they try to keep the Interstates clear for all the truck traffic, so anything else I should know/think of? (Besides winter car kit)
thanks!
A-Best: oooh i have definitely driven a portion of that stretch of 94 many many times in the winter... most of the trouble i've encoutered is with slush and ice, they will slow you down quite a bit.
there aren't really many gas stations between here and there, so i would gas up every chance you get. keep some antifreeze in your car, and use it.
make sure that winter survival kit has everything that you could ever imagine needing, and also keep plenty of blankets, a shovel, and some jumper cables in your car.
i hope you're driving a vehicle that's ND/MT winter appropriate! :) most importantly, just slooow down.
