how does the xbox live gold membership work?
so my live expires in a month or two and i would like to get another year so just renew it but then all these youtube ppl say they charge u monthly hafter it runs out causing you to pay like 95 a year so is that true or itll just charge me 49.99 again?
A-Best: you can purchase a year membership, or you can buy monthly or 6 month membership. I let mine expire, may buy a ps3 online play is free. The best value would to buy a year xbox live card from best buy or another retailer, it is cheaper than buying it through xbox live.
1 month $7.99

There is an option under membership to add the code found on the card to renew your xbox live.
I love playing xbox but with all the ads and game upgrades that require a purchase, and ridiculously priced games the live service should be free.
A: Yeah it's awful - if you give them your credit card details for a Yearly membership, then they will keep taking your money without even asking you when it runs out and automatically renew it. My Dad had to phone them up and complain to an employee for about an hour before they said that it would no longer automatically renew.
They will charge you 49.99 each year.
If you don't want it to automatically renew, then you have to phone them and ask them to change it because you can't stop it through the website.
If you haven't used your credit card to pay for it, then I would highly recommend buying Vouchers in shops for membership rather than doing credit card.
