What is traffic like on I-95 Northbound traveling from Northern Virginia to Baltimore?
What is traffic like on I-95 Northbound traveling from Northern Virginia to Baltimore, between 7 and 9 a.m.? I live in the area but haven't driven to Baltimore during rush hour before so I need to find out how bad the delays are in the mornings traveling in that direction. Thanks!
A-Best: Terrible. You'll hit tremendous traffic between Northern Virginia and the Wilson Bridge, which goes to Maryland. The Beltway and 95 North through Prince George's County aren't bad, But the last part of 95 into Baltimore will be bad if you're still in rush hour. Plan for a 2-hour trip.
A: Usually around that time is when it gets the busiest because of everyone going to work. Plus it also doesn't help that a good bit of it is under construction which screws up a lot of the rotation. I would suggest taking that trip to Baltimore after 9am but before noon as well. I-95 isn't too bad up north. It gets worse the farther south you get. I live in Jacksonville, FL and I have traveled that road many times to visit my relatives in PA, but that road gets pretty insane early in the morning.
