Can i give me 4 month old son rice cereal with stage one baby food?
I have a 4 month old son and I was wondering if I could give him Rice Cereal with stage 1 baby food? Some people say that he should be eating that.
A-Best: It depends on your baby, but most babies digestive systems are not yet developed well enough at 4 months to handle solid food (and that includes very watery rice cereal). Introducing foods too early has actually been shown to increase a child's chance of having food allergies. I waited until 6 1/2 months to start any solids including cereal and now my son is eating just fine and had no growth problems from waiting. I plan to wait until 6-7 months with my next one as well.
A: I started feeding my daughter stage one gerber food at 4 months, but the rice cereal hurt her stomach. Just watch your son after feeding him, if you can hear his stomach fussing, you will know if he is ready by how he reacts to it.
A: I did with my daughter and she really enjoyed it. I also would mix the rice with apple sauce. It was one of her first foods.
A: yes, you can, but some babies aren't ready for it yet. My son had a VERY sensitive belly and I couldnt get him on it until he was almost 6 months. try small amounts, and be sure that it doesn't hurt your baby. by this age, they should be able to tolerate it though. every baby is different. i actually just put his cereal in a bottle and gave it to him. just get a cross cut nipple if you do or it gets clogged.
A: My daughter is 4m old and i give her stage one foods and baby cereal and she loves it. Just start him out with a Little at a time and try one kind of fruit or veggie at a time just to be sure he isn't allergic to any one food. :-)
A: I started my daughter at about 3 1/2 months on rice cereal, but waited until she was four months to start introducing the stage one pureed food. They say if your baby is a supported sitter (tries to sit, but still needs your help to stay upright) then they are ready for rice cereal and stage one foods.
When you do introduce the pureed foods start out with one at a time instead of a variety. That way if there is any reaction to a certain food, you know what it is. My daughter has had a reaction to the stage one squash. I didn't even know she was being given squash yet, but apparently the day care didn't think it was important to inform me. So suddenly my daughter started spitting up everything she took in for two days. I was stressed out and worrying. Then it stopped. I thought they were just giving her too much rice cereal and that she was staying full so she'd spit up her bottles, but it was a funky yellow color. So I asked them to cut back on the amount of rice cereal they were giving her and sure enough the spitting up stopped. Then earlier this week it started again and I asked them what they had fed her. They told me squash, and I asked them to show me what they'd fed her last week (they have to document it) and she'd had squash on the same day she'd started spitting everything up. So, I made the deduction that the squash is upsetting her stomach. I plan on bringing it up with her doctor at our next appointment. Until then I'll still slowly introduce other things, but I've made it clear to the day care that until further notice she is not to have squash.
So yes, you can give your four month old rice cereal and stage one baby food. Just make sure to look for any allergies.
Good luck!
A: yes. while you are at it go ahead and mix some cows milk in there too.
Is it just me or are all the trolls using this question lately??
A: Start by given him a few spoons first to see how he tolerates Them make sure that you try it for 3 days to see if there's an allergic reaction. I starded spoon feeding him rice cereal at 3 months he was able to sit on his own with no support.
A: I started both my children on rice cereal at 4 months...you'll probably hear alot of people say wait till 6 months, however, both of my children were fine with it. I introduced stage 1 baby food a couple weeks after the rice cereal....I made sure that the rice cereal was agreeing with them first. If it is with your son, then you can try, but only stick with one food until you know he is not allergic to it...try doing peas the first week, then greenbeans the next week, and so on. Don't give him peas one day then something else the next. If nothing seems to agree with him then wait a little bit longer or contact your peditrician.
A: it's recommended to start solids after 6 months. However you can ask your pediatrician and see what they recommend you. I waited until my girl was 6 months old.
A: U can but it's not recommended to give stage 1 baby food til 6 months old.
But as long as he's had rice cereal before, then u can mix in one kind of stage 1 baby food inot it and see how it goes, but i would only start with a lil bit, and make sure that u don't mix the baby foods together, unless he has had both before and hasn't had an allergic reaction to either one.
Basically it's up to u and what u feel is right for ur baby, :D.
A: Do not use cows milk until after 1st b-day. This could cause an allergy. I'm a nurse and mom. You should only be mixing the cereal with breast milk or formula.
