What does your doctor charge you when you go to his office to get a new prescription on a drug refill?
Mine charges me $88.00 which I think is absolutely outreageous!!!!!!!
A-Best: I was charged $90 for the first office visit when I got the prescription, with one refill. I guess I'll have to pay another $90 when the refill runs out. I agree it's outrageous, but what are you gonna do.
A: Well, if you need a regular refill than they should be able to give it to you or call it into the pharmacy. Some drugs require you to see the Dr every 3 months or even get bloodwork. So, maybe its a office visit charge.
A: If the Doc will not authorize it over the phone, it cost's me a $20 copay with my insurance and I am pretty sure they milk the insurance for a full visit.
A: any time i step foot in a Dr. office, it cost me my co-pay ($15). I have no idea what the charge is to my insurance company. I would take issue with a doctor issuing a prescription for just a single fill and requiring you to continue to come back in for additional single fill prescriptions for a regularly taken medication. My regular prescriptions (daily medications) come with prescriptions for several refills. The medication is not of an illicit or habitual type - if yours is, then it may be different.
Talk to you doctor about this issue directly. If he is not doing anything other than writing out a script without any type of examination, then maybe something else can be worked out.
A: w/o any insurance, its like 60.00 just 4 the visit 2 the dr's office 2 get a new authorization for an rx here.
