my daughter got her 6 month old shots yesterday. she woke up this morn feeling feverish?
i used a normal thermometer under her arm and it read 99.2 but then i used it onmyself and it gave me 96.8. does this mean that since the normal fr adult is 98.6 taht my daughters temp is really 2 degrees higher? is it normal for a baby to have temp after a shot?
A-Best: yes it is normal. If it does not go away see a doctor
A: Yes Perfectly Normal.A lot of Times When Babies Get Them They Tend to run a low grade fever for a few days And May also have other symptoms like Be extra fussy or sleep more.If it Gets to high I would call the doctor but right now it is nothing to worry about and should pass in a few days.
A: yes its pretty normal... make sure you watch her and if she gets worse to get her to the doctor... as for now just give her some fever reducer and she should be just fine
A: Yes it's normal for babies to have a temperature for up to 48 hours after their immunisation, it's a very common side effect.
If it lasts longer than 48 hours or it accompanied by any other symptoms, I'd get her checked out just to be on the safe side!
A: I'm only a nursing student, but, I do know that after you get a shot, especially if it's a flu shot, you will start to feel feverish afterwards. It probably isn't too big of a deal and also, under the armpit isn't always very accurate. It's good that you're worrying though, good mommy! Lol, but, I wouldn't worry about it unless is stays until the end of the day....morning temps usually are a little higher than usual. Try it again around noon and then again around 5, if it doesn't go down by noon I would call the doctor! :) Hope all is well!
A: It's a very normal reaction for them to be fussy and run a low grade fever. The injection site is sore and something foreign has been introduced into her little body, it's to be expected that she would have a little reaction. Give her some infant Tylenol and she should be fine by tomorrow. Your doctor or the nurse that administered the shot should have given you a paper explaining everything about the shot. When you take the temperature under the arm you're supposed to add a degree so her temp is actually 100.2. which is considered low grade. If it goes over 102 though I would call her doctor.
A: it is common. use calpol and continue to monitor.
they sometimes get diarrhea too
A: yeah, totally normal. this happens coz the shots that are administered contain a very minute quantity of the particualr bacteria and viruses against which the protection is required. this helps to develop antibodies against the diseases caused by these micro organisms and these antibodies help to prevent any further infections.
A: Do you know your babies normal temp.? Many babies have a higher body temperature than 98.6. My son's temp is always around 99.
It is extremely normal for babies to get a bit of a fever after shots. Just keep monitoring it - and use a rectal thermometer for a more accurate read. Under the arm can be off by a couple of degrees. If the temp goes over 100.4, give a bit of infant tylenol and call your doctor.
A: Yes, it is perfectly normal for your baby to spike a temperature after shots. My pediatrician tells me to give my son tylenol every time after his shots. That helps with any pain they may have and to not spike a fever. Just give her tylenol until the temp. drops. She will be just fine!!
A: my 6 months old just got his shot and also has a slight fever as well as redness at injection site. These are very normal and pretty minor side effects from vaccinations (just your baby's immune system doing what it suppose to do - producting the antibodies and fighting the "fake" disease (vaccine)). Ask you pediat. if you can give her some tylenol for the fever. All of the symptoms usually go away in one or two days.
