What is a good restaurant on I-35 in Austin with good easy-off/easy-on highway access?
I am putting together a travel guide for my company, and we are going to San Antonio from Dallas. We might stop for a bite to eat in Austin. Does anyone know a good, non-fast food establishment that has easy-off/easy-on I-35 access? I know that Austin has a lot of great restaurants, but I'm just looking for something inexpensive and fast (but not fast-food). Tall order, I know. Pun intended. Thanks in advance.
A-Best: Well he said Texas Roadhouse but I suggest Logan's Roadhouse. One off the Stassney exit. Also a Texas Land & Cattle, but not sure of the exit number. There is also a Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant off I-35.

A: There's a Texas Road House on I-35 south of the Parmer exit. Great food and a big parking lot. Plus you get to throw your peanut hulls in the floor....whee!
A: If you're looking for more than steak or bbq, then there are the standards that you can find all over the country and then there are a few unique to Austin. Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, Chili's... (in Round Rock); Benigan's, Antonio's (mexican) around I-35/183; Boiling Pot (cajun/seafood) on 6th street (about 2 blocks off 35), just to name a few. Of course the really good Austin places aren't "just off the highway", you have to find them. Hope this helps.

A: One place that has great food, is generally quicker than your typical sit-down place, and is not a national chain is
Rudy's Bar-B-Q
(http://rudys.com/)
The one right off of I-35 is actually in Round Rock, just north of Austin.
What makes it quick is that you stand in line to order and then pick up your food just like you would at a fast food place, but the food is definitely not "fast food," and there are lots of tables to sit at.
One thing that you'll want to note in your guide is that you don't have to order the amounts you see on the menu. For example, the pork tenderloin is priced per 1/2 pound, but you can order it by the slice. You can even order just one rib (except for the baby backs - those come by the half rack). This makes the prices reasonable, and everyone can get a sampling of the great assortment of barbeque.
A: there is posado's mexican restaurant if you take the wells branch exit and loop under. (it is right next to the cheddar's mentioned earlier). if you go to baby a's it is at howard lane. (they have really good stuffed avocados and margaritas. carraba's is good italian and it is at the 290/2222 exit.
